Why Battlefield 2's ranking system is superior. Say no to instant gratification

Ended up as a colonel (didn't fly planes or helis so that restricted me from higher ranking) unlocked all medals and badges except for the expansion packs didn't get them.

But it was a huge amount of fun ranking up and seeing high ranks ingame was a "battlefield" moment

@D3AD_M3AT_au I remember people making such a big deal about 4 star generals. High ranks usually mean one thing.....you are looking at someone that is no life-ing the game. Not saying that is bad thing, it's just the reality of climbing to high ranks.

    @GRiPSViGiL back then it did took abit of grind to get to colonel, but now ....... it didn't take long to rank up to 140 in BF4 especially because I was in a clan at the time and we where pushing each other

      @D3AD_M3AT_auThe metrics are a bit skewed nowadays though. I think you get credit for being in game just sitting in the lobby screen nowadays because I know I haven't played over 2000 hours of BFV.  I definitely don't have the rank to go with it.
