I dont think it will be. I dont think they want a PR nightmare like BFV. But if somethings wrong then we will find out.

It is not going to be delayed and I think I found the reason for it based on what is going on with Halo Infinite.
"We’re at a critical phase in the flight that is Halo Infinite, so it’s extremely important to avoid distractions and stay focused on mission-critical tasks only. For Campaign, that means putting maximum effort into ensuring the wide-open, adventure-filled experience you’ll all get to play on December 8th is a great as it can possibly be. And gameplay demos and trailers not only take a huge amount of effort to do well, they also take cycles away from bugs and other tasks."
I firmly believe that DICE and the others helping them are at the exact same point with Battlefield 2042 right now. This perfectly explains why they wouldn't be able to show anymore gameplay trailers and other stuff like that at the moment.
They are currently focused on making the Beta and the Full Game itself as great as they can be before they are released. So just because we aren't seeing any new gameplay videos yet DOESN'T mean it will be delayed. Because I firmly believe it will all be on time and I am sticking with it 🙂
I’ve heard between 31AUG and 02SEP we will have word, while I know there was a certain thing floating around saying 04SEP beta, I don’t think that’s to far off the mark. They seem pretty confident in themselves this time around, so I am feeling good it isn’t off track.

This right here is what I’m talking about! You can go read devs post on Twitter and they are all saying positive, confidence bolstering things.
beta is still coming in September afaik so hands-on gameplay is weeks away.
I expect the game is less finished at launch than it would be otherwise because of the pandemic.

I expect it on time and will have the usual bugs, performance problems, balance issues between weapons, classes and vehicles. Then months go by before a patch, while the forum goes crazy.
It would not be a BF game without. 🤣🤣🤣 - Jesse1654 years agoSeasoned Ace@SirBobdk The last game I played that wasn't very buggy at launch was Mass Effect Legendary Edition. And even the bugs it did have were mainly small graphic glitches which were fixed pretty quickly.
Just about ALL other games I played at launch were very buggy in one way or another. Not just the last few Battlefield games but ALL games in general by everyone.
So I don't blame them specifically for it as long as they fix as many bugs as possible before launch and focus most on the game breakers.
Will it be buggy at launch? Very possibly YES but it should be fine as long as they are not totally game breaking ones.

If we disregard BF4, then there have probably not been serious problems with any BF games at launch imo. Most have been around balance and the usual desires for nerf / buff. - Jesse1654 years agoSeasoned Ace
