My issue is different to yours but I was able to actually FIX my game by disabling windows "Real TIme Protection" .
For some reason EA anti cheat doesn't like Windows Defender on my PC, I have added a file exclusion for BF 2042 and it is no longer killing my PC.
I'm also having this exact problem. It only started after the most recent patch. I'll try the Windows Defender thing tonight
