Playing multiplayer mid game the Series X just shuts off, controller light flashing. Happened a few times now.
Not thermal shutdown, console runs cool and well maintained, play MW2 a lot which hogs thermals on the platform.
Playing at 4K/60hz.
Worrisome, lots of new Xbox players soon with Gamepass..
Anyone else with a Series X getting this problem?
Thanks

Finding it almost impossible to finish a round in any mode as it’s freezing and going back to main Xbox dashboard or shutting the console down altogether.
this is the only game this is happening on
tried what other threads have been saying but nothing working at all
I really want to play and enjoy this game but it’s simply not possible, something need to be looked into this immediately

I cant emphasize my frustration more than others already have. The game seemed somewhat fine during beta and launch, but since the recent updates, the game constantly crashes. Sometimes during loading a match sometimes in the middle of a match. It doesn't matter what game mode, rush, portal 32v32 or 64v64 it crashes. Sometimes it will send me back to xbox home menu and other times it will completely shut off my xbox. This was not happening at first and judging by other forums this has yet to be resolved and doesn't seem like EA has addressed this issue yet. Upsetting, I enjoy the game and try to play it but am always in suspense waiting for it to crash my console. This seems to be an ongoing issue between EA and Microsoft. Microsoft will send us to EA and EA support sends us right back to Microsoft. I have tried all the troubleshooting options presented to me. Uninstaller, reinstall, Uninstall factory reset then reinstall, debug, update, dns. Literally everything suggested still no luck. I have not played a full game without crashing in months. Please EA assist the community with this issue so we can funnel back to the game. I paid 120$ for the pre-order of a game that is unplayable. I'm sure I'm not the only one. That's what we get for paying for something before we realize it's value. Lesson learned I suppose.

What this guy said... It's ridiculous. FIX YOUR GAME! I paid $ for it and cannot play!!!!

DICE Team
Recommend as always if the Xbox is shutting down, reach out to Xbox Support to have a look on what is going on. @ArcadeHustle

I think it'd be a good idea to forward the thread(s) to technical leads at DICE so they can touch base with MS partners, doesn't seem to be incidental (single user) and rather a problem(multiple users) which warrants investigation. Take some ownership?
Or don't, it's your product.
Not to be cynical, but it's easier to just uninstall and play something else that is reliable in the platform than go through technical support channels.

@EA_Atic As everyone else is stating, it's only a battlefield 2042 issue, so no it's not a "contact microsoft situation" please give us an actual answer for these crashes and not some copy paste message you have written down somewhere. we want to play the game that we paid real money for. it's clearly a your side issue and not a "send your console in for repair" side.

Our Xbox’s are only shutting down with EA Games. I have zero issues with any other games. It’s literally only your stuff. I’ve tried every single troubleshooting stuff you guys recommend and nothing helps.
- 2 years ago@paul_krajicek My new XSX shutdowns on Division 2 and sometimes Injustice 2. Maybe the problem is on Xbox. Anyway. Hope it gets fixed.

This has also been happening to me on my Xbox series X. Only playing Battlefield 2042. The game will just randomly freeze and hard crash me back to the Xbox dashboard. No error codes or messages pop up or anything, no overheating messages my Xbox series X is also well ventilated and this is the only game this happens to me.
This is a Battlefield 2042 problem, there’s nothing wrong with our consoles. Hopefully DICE can figure this out and fix it because the game is unplayable for me and a lot of others right now..

I been having a nightmare with this, very rare been able to complete a round. I tried tonight to drop the console display down to 1080p and I’m now onto 5th game without a crash.
no idea if that’s resolved it but maybe worth a go

source is me! I just bought a brand new Xbox series X And it’s perfectly fine my sons other Xbox at his mums is fine it was just his Xbox that was at mine having this issue. Microsoft bloody know about this and staying silent!

@CartoonCat1562I mean this game was fine for a few days at least for me, then it started crashing very often so there's no way to know if your new Xbox is actually fine, it could just be the game. There's no real source of a bad batch of Series X and clearly since it's only happening with this game on my end I still think this is related to the the game in some way
- iiisinkyiii3 years agoNew Traveler@ArcadeHustle Supposedly the Series X console shutdown crash on BF2042 has been fixed with the latest console update. Not sure if this also means the game itself crashing on Series X has been fixed. I've been through every troubleshooting step and posted multiple times here and on Xbox forums. Been having crashing issues since launch, they never acknowledged them as a company on Xbox, but always cater to PC first. I played BF2042 on both and have hosted modes with thousands of players weekly. I guess it's a blessing and a curse at this point for game pass, the issue is being talked about much more since many more players can try the game out.
Only thing to note in the console update notes on Xbox's end are "System - various stability and performance fixes", which may just be covering for EA's large problem of thousands of players unable to play their games for weeks or months even. I'm running the Xbox Insider beta build so I'll spend a few hours and report back with results on BF2042 stability. - 3 years ago
Having similar issue with Need For Speed Unbound but I am unable to post to that games bug forum.

How is it going now after the latest xbox update? After a couple matches I have not crashed. However, would be great for EA to acknowledge this officially if they/ or xbox have truly fixed the issue. Maybe add something in patch notes? Or continue pretending the problem never existed...
- 3 years ago@Forcerecon93 It’s still crashes for me just like before.
- iiisinkyiii3 years agoNew Traveler@evotiii9090 Same here. Maybe they'll acknowledge it and push a fix some day. Not holding my breath though. Why play a game if we can't play the game?
- 2 years ago@ArcadeHustle Yep I have had the same issue.
Mainly with Starfield sometimes I can play for hours and then sometimes when there’s a lot of action it just dashboards or completely shuts off with the controller light flashing.
Very strange and haven’t found a fix. - 1 year ago
Mine too, Apex Season 19 and now 20, Battlefield 2042, and Madden all crash on my xbox but no other games do. Have yet to find any answers.

It's your xbox like cartooncat1562 said. I didn't believe it at first either, a brand new master chief collection edition xbox series X ran non-ea titles just fine. But, after all this time and ppl still reporting the issue, I swapped to my nephews new series X and no crashing at 4k 120fps.- CartoonCat15621 year agoRising Traveler
Microsoft have releases bad batches and don’t want to admit it!
