BF2042 using 100% of CPU while the GPU is running at 7%

I played BF2042 Since the Open Beta and the game uses 100% of the CPU.

My specs:

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600

GPU: RTX 3080

RAM: 16GB 3200Mhz

Storage: 970 Evo Plus 1TB

I get about 47 to 59 FPS on lowest settings even with DLSS set to Ultra performance.

And tried to play on 720p and the frapes still the same.

I know there is a bottleneck between the CPU and GPU but not that huge.

I played a lot of 2021 AAA titles and never experienced this.

    I got it working!!!!!

    Turn off FUTURE FRAME RENDERING !!!!!    

    I have made a ton of tweaks here and there, but the biggest problem is this one setting.

    Go to:

    • Options
    • Display
    • Video
    • near the bottom is FUTURE FRAME RENDERING
    • Turn it OFF

    I have been able to play and it's not bad at all.  This one setting is really hard on your pc's CPU.   

    There are times when I've been playing fine, and one day it's crap again.  I go and check, and somehow this one feature was turned back on.    I turn it off, and I can play again.

    kay. I see... Will be there any fix for this? Cuz I can't get any near 60FPS in 128 player mode.

    Plus will it support DirectStorage in the near future? If it will, this will help me a lot.

    I have two sticks of 8GB RAM and they run on XMP Profile (3200Mhz).

    I enabled DirectX 12 from the game files and my FPS increased by 15 frames. but still not what I should get.

    I lowerd my resolution to 1280×720 and still under 60FPS.

    This game is just insanely CPU intensive, sorry to say but the 2600 and this game does not bode well, you will be better off disabling DLSS (DLSS is only good in GPU bound scenarios which you are not having, in-fact DLSS puts a hefty load onto the CPU too, so disable it).

    They won't "fix it", the pairing of the 2600 with a 3080 is not a good one, heck I get CPU bottleneck on a 12900k and a 3090ti and 4k!

    tl;dr, every CPU bottlenecks the GPU in this game, 2600 is not a good pair with 3080, crank up the graphics as you have the head room or get a new mobo and CPU.

    I've been using my HP Victus

    I7 12650H, 16gB 3200, 2050ti medium settings. Motion blur off, several things turned off or down bit still looks amazing on medium setring/1080 and I run DLSs performance,  not ultra, and average 105fps. I can turn raytracing on and still get 70 to 90+ 

    Also I'm kind of the opposite.  My CPU runs about 7% and GPU about 98% 

    But it's so much better in every way than my Series X I ended selling

    Everyone, the problem is 100% steam.  I was having a horrible CPU usage packet loss frame drops and stuttering since the game came out.  But after uninstalling it from steam and reinstalling it through the Xbox app or the EA app, the game plays perfect and smooth now.
