can't add friend from different platform (Xbox)

Hello @EA_Atic , I'm having the same issue.

I'm on PC with my Xbox account linked to EA account.

My friend is on Xbox series S and has his Xbox account linked to an EA account, though I don't think he has login access to the EA account from being an old email he doesn't have access to anymore.

We've tried:

-Adding each other in-game with EA accounts

-Inviting each other through Xbox party game invites (My PC has xbox game bar)

-I've uninstalled on Steam & reinstalled through Xbox app on PC/EA app

I'm unable to invite him to a game, but I don't think he can add me back/accept my EA friend request.

Any advice?
