Crashing as soon as the round starts. 0xC0000005

EA Support asked me to post this here so I guess it's a niche issue lol...

Anyway. Downloaded the game sometime last week and was running fine for hours on end for multiple days. Then out of nowhere it just starts crashing the very second a match starts. I can sit in the lobby for hours no problems. go through my settings, keep it in the background, etc. But the SECOND a match is done loading and the map shows up (sometimes even beforehand) I just get abruptly sent back to desktop. This is about day 6 now that I've been unable to play

I have tried more things than I ever wanted to so if you have some surface level info please just save it...some of those include reinstalling ALL drivers (mobo as well as GPU. Yes I DDU'd first) rolling back to older GPU drivers. Reinstalling, verifying an unholy amount of times, moving to a different drive, changing numerous bios settings, plenty other stuff I cant really think of rn.

But below is a screenshot of one of my crash dumps (they tell u to show the issue and don't let you upload mdmp's...) and a screenshot of what I get when hitting debug. I'm also including my specs just so you have further reference.

Maybe someone here can make sense of it, seems support couldn't even. Mildly unrelated but BF1 seems to still run just fine, and every other game I have. Just this one seems to have issues only when starting a match.

  • Hi Hazewald
Could you send a DxDiag file so we can find some clues based on the errors it contains?

Press the Windows and R keys at the same time.
Type DxDiag in the window that appears, then click Save all information and save the file wherever you want.
Then drag and drop the file here, then click Share - add the .txt file as an attachment.

    Thank you 😄

  • Similar. I'm able to run the game for about an hour +/- and then it fails, vaporizes, like an Alt F4, and often in the event log I find the same error code which references problem with EA Anticheat.  This crash process has repeated about 8-10 times at least over the last two days. I've deleted and reinstalled BF2042 clean, tried running the game as "administrator", turned off Bitdefender Antivirus which I suspected of interfering with EA AC. Nothing works so far.  Running i7-12700 / RTX 5080. DxDiag below

FYI I just tried limiting FPS to 120 and that resulted in "DXGI Error Device Hung" twice in a row, so I went back to unlimited FPS. I'm playing on an ultrawide not sure 1080P will look but will try it now.

Relaunched on 1440p and <1 min crash w/ same event code. The latest crashes are happening very fast; previously I had Bitdefender toggled off for both Antivirus and Advanced Threat Defense and, if only coincidentally, I was getting longer game sessions before crash. Going to toggle off Bitdefender again and see if games last longer than 2-3 minutes.

try a lower OC at youre memory , or diable XMP/DOCP/EXPO and test again.
    Cheers

  • Hazewald if you have a 13th or 14th gen Intel CPU, try updating the motherboard BIOS Firmware to the latest version.

Those generation CPUs are known to have stability issues which are fixed with BIOS updates.
