EAAntiCheat closes the game in fullscreen mode.

I’ve had an Intel Arc B580 for a few days now. Before that, I used a GTX 1070 for many years. Battlefield 2042 ran flawlessly in fullscreen mode with the GTX 1070. Since installing the Intel Arc B580, Battlefield keeps crashing in fullscreen mode during gameplay. The timing of the crashes varies between 5 and 60 minutes into a match. The NVIDIA drivers were properly removed. Reinstalling, repairing, and updating the game, drivers, and EAAntiCheat did not improve the situation.
Windows 11 is, of course, fully up to date and there are no pending updates.

I get this Error every Time, when it happens:

EAAntiCheatService
The game bf2042.exe exited unexpectedly, exit code: 0xC0000005

I’ve now discovered that the game runs stable when I play in borderless window mode. However, this comes with drawbacks in terms of synchronization between the monitor and the graphics card.
Does anyone know about this issue and how to fix it?

  • Hi Toramius,
Sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your game.
Can you try disabling full-screen optimization via the game properties and let me know if you still experience crashes?

    (Right-click on BF2042 > Properties > Compatibility > check “Disable fullscreen optimizations”)

If it's not working send a DxDiag file so we can find some clues based on the errors it contains.

Press the Windows and R keys at the same time.
Type DxDiag in the window that appears, then click Save all information and save the file wherever you want.
Then drag and drop the file here, then click Share - add the .txt file as an attachment.

    Let me know 😄
