Game wont start, tell me to log in then that I dont have internet.

This error is usually fixed by clearing your temporary files and removing the EA license folder.
Could you please try these steps :

Remove EA License Files:
Close the EA app completely
Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog
Type or paste %ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services and hit Enter
Delete everything inside the License folder.

Clear Temporary Files:
Press Windows + R again.
Type %temp% and press Enter.

You’ll be taken to C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Temp. Delete all files and folders in this location.
If some items can’t be deleted, restart your computer and try again.

Tried removing the game and EA files, and reinstalling, still won't work.

I would like to get more information, please can you follow these steps :
- Press Windows + R.
- Then enter %ProgramData%\Origin\Logs
- You should find a file called “BF2042_[you have number here]_OnlineActivation_Log.html”
- Open it
Let me know if you see any errors or information that seems unusual. If everything is working properly, it should say “License signature is good.”

After that it only adds these:

Let's focus on this: Invalid SSL Certificate. LastError: SSL Library load error. Host: proxy.novafusion.ea.com

Before starting the steps, could you check that your date and time are synchronized: Enter in you search bar "ms-settings:dateandtime"

After clicking, you will normally be taken to your “Date and Time” settings. Now click on “Sync now” 

Then launch your game.

If it's not work follow these steps: 
1-  Open your cmd as an administrator.
2- Enter these commands > 

ipconfig /flushdns 
netsh winsock 
reset netsh int ip reset

3- And restart your PC.
4- After starting your PC, disable your antivirus software.
5- Launch your game

It didn't work. I do not have any AV other than Win Defender. Should I turn that off?

Yes, disable your Win defender and firewall while the test is running, as it may be blocking the connection.

Can you try this : 
Open your cmd as an administrator again
 Enter these commands >

netsh winhttp reset proxy
