Gaming has stopped being fun and started to feel like torture

I'm 44 years old, and naturally, I have a lot of responsibilities to take care of throughout the day. In the evenings, I just want to log into a game for 2–3 hours and have some fun. But there's a lack of players, and cheaters are everywhere. Even those 2–3 hours of enjoyment seem too much to ask from EA. Honestly, I don't think they're putting in any real effort, because none of these problems have been fixed or properly addressed. As for BF6, I don’t think they should even bother releasing it—there’s a saying: "a fish rots from the head down." I think it's time to start looking for different games, and I’m quite sure I’ll be staying away from EA titles as much as possible.

Battlefield 6 looks really good from the YouTube gameplay I've seen. Playing it on PS5 with crossplay turned off to prevent PC wallhack and aimbot cheaters is how I'd play BF6.

I'm really tempted to play Battlefield 6 and it looks like everything I've hoped for in a Battlefield game. It looks like Battlefield is returning to it's roots and going back to what made older Battlefield games fun to play.

I feel like there's other priorities in my life that I need to concentrate on. I'm bummed out that I'll probably miss out on playing Battlefield 6. I've been waiting since Battlefield 1 for another Battlefield game to come out that I'd actually play.

  • Hi irikotori,

I honestly don't mean this in a patronising or dismissive, but if you're not enjoying the game or the series anymore, then it might be worth taking a break or going back to one of the earlier games (they seem to have gotten more popular with the release of BF6 nearing). Gaming should be fun at the end of the day, and I find that sometimes taking a break helps. I'm in my 40s too, so I know what you mean by having limited time to play, but I quite often just play other titles when I get frustrated with Battlefield and I usually enjoy myself when I go back to Battlefield afterwards.

As for BF6, you could try the open beta this weekend and try to use that to judge if you'll enjoy it or not.
