So I uninstalled and then reinstalled on my OS drive.
Then I got error 30005.
I tried again but this time 'run as admin' and it booted to main menu in the game, although didnt have time to play a game and test.
I've got some jobs to do now but I will try again and confirm when I get home later.

Can you close all other programs and disable antivirus/firewalls and try to start Battlefield 2042. If the same issue as above happens can you follow the below steps.
Can you collect system logs using Process Monitor, guide on how to here. Make sure that all other programs are closed while doing this (Will help reduce flooding of other data logs). Once you have the results can you Direct Messages me on AHQ with the results and we will get it sent on to the team.

Community Manager@samyhd Yippeeeee, looks like its sorted. I think, but not 100% certain, it was a currupt Battlefield2042 folder in documents cache etc( i assume this is the data etc) i deleted and restored from a previous onedrive back up and hey presto alls good. Fingers crossed. No idea how it got currupted....
