Player camera panning to sky every 2 minutes on controller

I had this problem in the beta as well. I'm using an XBox Elite Controller on PC.

I had this issue in the beta. It was extremely frustrating. I had my joystick plugged in and everything neutral but BAM looking at the sky.

In the release the joystick and controller aren't recognized at all but the error also doesn't occur. Really seems like something is wrong with controller setup.

opposite of a couple people here, didn't have this issue in the beta... but now have it on release.. makes no sense.. no idea how this could get by testing. 

I don't know if this is going to help at all but as soon as I turned crossplay off ( to avoid yet another bug, persistent data error) I now have the bug but completely opposite where my aim snaps to the ground straight down instead of straight up to the sky.

The random upwards snaps could be prevented during the beta by turning the Steam Controller input off, by right clicking the game in the library. Played the game without any major problem that way before. BUT NOW, disabling the steam input will get your aim stuck to the ground. The only input from the controller is "look down". You can see that by trying to set any keybinds on for your controller and it will produce "look down" no matter what you click.

So when using a controller, you chose between an absolute game breaking bug or frustrating interference when your aim snaps to the sky

Someone else found a fix, you need to turn off mouse raw input before every game. Options-> mouse & Keyboard -> Global

I've been doing this with the game through steam and a PS5 controller and so far its worked, but needs to be turned off every game as it turns itself back on all the time.
