Hey there. Thanks for reaching out. I'll try to help figure out what's causing this. Can you get me a DxDiag report? Just attach it to a response. Instructions can be found in this article.

Hi Ntmecham, try launching the game again. I had the same issue, but I played today without any problems, even though the Conquest lobbies were dead. If you don't mind playing the other modes, you should be fine

Sorry about that! Normally the black screen issue is with PCs. Try clearing the local saved games with the instructions here under "Free up hard drive space".
Also, try deleting the personal saved data for BF 2042. To do that, please follow these steps. There is the risk of losing offline saves and changes to settings you've made. Normally, those download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee this.
- Hit the Guide button on your controller
- Highlight the BF 2042 icon
- Hit the Menu button. It's the small one to the right of the guide button with the 3 horizontal lines on it
- Choose Manage game & add ons
- Go to Saved data
- Delete the file with your gamertag on it
Let me know if these help or not. Thanks! - Ntmecham22 days agoNew Novice
That did not fix it.

Thanks for trying. Where is the game installed? If it's on an external or expansion drive, install it to the internal drive and vice versa if it's on the internal drive already. If you have another drive that is of course.
It also can't hurt to power cycle everything. Please follow these steps:
- Unplug your modem/router for 2 minutes
- Hard restart your console by holding down the power button until it turns off
- Power it all up and try playing again
You also may want to clear the alternate MAC address.- Go to your Xbox Settings
- Go to "Network", then "Advanced Network Settings"
- Click on "Alternate MAC Address", and then click "Clear"
