@EA_Leeuw It’s a new 5800x with new drivers, although now I’ll double check with AMD and make sure. GTX1070 has newest Nvidia driver.

@EA_Leeuw Didn’t get the chance, got sucked into setting up my joystick to finally fly after no JS support. Of course it didn’t go well… will see about it tonight. Thanks for following up.

@EA_Leeuw Turns out I had up to date AMD chipset.

I started 2042 and it opened in 1024 x 768 again. Changed it in Options to 1920x1080, closed, reopened and… 1024 again. So plan #2…

I also feel a little silly as I found out if you change the Profile and then close, it allows you to save without converting to a txt file. I’d been manually saving, which then added the txt extension. Duh. Checked the Read Only option too, as it will rewrite to -1 if it’s not locked. That setting held through 3 closings and restarting the game. Will see if it’s long term, I suspect it will be.

Thanks to all for their help and advice. We may be competitive gamers however there’s still a sense of community about fixes and I appreciate it.

@ATFGunr, ah, would you look at that. An update to the AMD chipset... 😅 Yeah that's unfortunately not something we can see from our side, not even via a DxDiag I am afraid.
