Hey @Flakstar,
TN is in fact hardware/client side related. It is the time the machine needs to process the game.
@ATFGunr, interesting, thank you. I will pass it on to the teams. - ATFGunr3 years agoLegend@EA_Leeuw Yesterday was the worst, with time nudge bumping into the 400 range. CT also spiked like crazy, mostly in conjunction with the TN spikes. CPU was around 90% for 2042, 100% total with system services running. I have a bunch of screen shots, is that at all useful? Is any of this? I appreciate your feedback, if it’s not useful let me know.
- @EA_Leeuw nope the problem is software based, see the customer reports here.
Feel free to search my post history for my DXDIAG. No temperature issues. Machine is far above specs. Connection is fine too. I can ping AWS services during gaming without any latency variation bigger than 1-2ms. Fix your DX12 implementation and compie/create most PSO on app startup not during the app runtime, like MS recommends and strongly suggests. Problem solved.

Hey @Flakstar,
We are not here to discuss this back and forward. 🙂
TN is hardware related. In simple words; it is the time/extra power that is needed by the PC in order to compensate for smoother gameplay. There are various threads, here on the forums, where people report a high TN, without experiencing other (network-related issues). Please see this topic here to check what all the measuring units mean.
If you have a high TN since the season 3 update, it is most likely related to the CPU issues the teams are still investigating. see below
Ok, its not PSO related. Why do i get a over 7-10ms compensation when i play against bots and around 14-21ms while waiting for match start and my hardware isnt even maxed out.
To keep it simple i used pics.
1st Pic 186 FPS, max thread use 45%, CPU overall 4,7%, TN -> 19ms
2nd pic 197 FPS max thread use 58,9%, CPU overall 7,8&, TN -> 20ms
3rd pic 161 FPS may thread use 43%, CPU overall 4,4%, TN -> 5ms
1st pic 127 FPS, max thread usage 100%, CPU overall 10,1%, TN -> 5ms
ping to amazon.de instance while gaming
Only technical part where you would need such an interpolation would be the netcode, to compensate the latency delta of the connected clients. This would explain the the SIM spikes too, which are going hand in hand with TN spikes. SIM afaik is server related.
Or did you refer with HW related problem to the AWS instances/server hardware?
Hi!
Does anybody know, will today's update fix high Time Nudge?
TN goes 100+ sometimes and it is really sad.- EA_Leeuw3 years ago

Hey @arcadeuxe,
Just to confirm, you have played a few matches with Update 3.2 being live and you're still experiencing a high TN? Hi, no i didnt play yet, just wanted to know, did new patch fixed something with high TN?

@arcadeuxe, I don't believe that there are specific changes in Update 3.2 that are related to TN. But you never know. I've been getting these issues since S3 too.
Tried all pc drivers, bios, reinstalled game etc.
I'm running a couple of Deco Mesh M5 things, which if I remove, seems to sort my issue. With them in the network, I get 5-10 spikes a game, fps drops by 30 ish, TN spikes to the top of the chart for a second.
Take them out, played for hours without a single drop or spike.
I had them in since launch, so no idea why it would be an issue now. And clearly isn't going to be everyone's issue. I would imagine in the 'performance improvements' Dice changed the way something is handled, which is causing the TN issue.

Hey @I_R0M_I,
Funny enough, I personally have a couple of those Deco Mesh M5s in my personal network as well and I am not experiencing this issue. So it could be a placebo?
TN is also related to your PC, as it is a client-side value. - @EA_Leeuw I'm no expert. But if there is a delay on data (ie traffic handling or whatever) , could that not make my pc wait? Which would manifest as TN on the graph?
I can reproduce the test over and over, day after day. So I don't think it's placebo at all. It might not be everyone's problem or solution. But it is for me.
So unless the Deco are somehow making my pc have an issue? Either way, I don't get the fault with the Deco removed.
I've had the issue for months, every game I've played. I have over 1000hrs, I play a lot! I've removed Decos, and not had the issue once since. If I put them back to router mode, issue returns every game again.
I will clarify, the Decos are now in AP mode. So they aren't routing traffic, just extending WiFi. When I get the issue, the Decos are in router mode. - EA_Leeuw3 years ago

@I_R0M_I, yeah, the TN is indeed a 'compensating' value of some sort. I don't 100% know how it works, but it should have something to do with your CPU needing to 'overcompensate' for the gameplay.
Of course could it be the case, in your situation, that the Deco's are causing something (in your network), which eventually results in a high TN on your end.
Did you already check if there are any firmware updates available for your Deco's by any chance? - @EA_Leeuw Yeah, it's done it over multiple different firmwares.
I noticed it after a game patch. That's when it started. So I just assumed it was a game issue.
I tried everything, updated all bios, chipset, gpu, cpu etc etc. Reinstalling the game.
A friend said to try tethering my mobile data, and play on that. I did, and got no fps drops.
So that lead me to thinking it was my ISP. Last thing I tried was removing the decos, and that fixed it.
Like I said, I can reproduce the fault by refitting the Decos.
It's very odd, doesnt really make sense. But I don't really know about TN etc. I m just happy I have a fix for me at least 🙂 - EA_Leeuw3 years ago

@I_R0M_I, yeah it's a weird situation. Thanks for mentioning it though, who knows if it might help others too. I'm having same issue, i have attached my DxDiag, using wired ethernet connection at 250mbps up and down, this is literally the only game i have problems with... i have tried updating bios, updated every driver possible, re-installed game, tried using "game mode" on and off in windows settings, have tried every threads solution and nothing has worked, at this point I'm about to give up and the worst thing is ea wont even give a refund anymore
