SOLVED (for me at least): I asked my internet provider to restart my router/modem (from their office), and after that BF 2042 has worked fine all the time. - - - I have pre-ordered Battlefield 204...

I found a solution(!!!): I called my Internet provider and asked them to restart my modem/router (from their office), and after that it has worked fine all the time.

I recommend you try this!
