I'm also having this issue, controller isn't recognized at all on BF2042, but works fine in other games. I'm also having an additional issue where if I even look at my connected HOTAS joystick the wrong way, all of a sudden BF2042 thinks I want to play the game with it, instead of my mouse and keyboard. It causes my controls to lock up and forces my view up to the sky, the mouse will only pan left and right after this happens. I have to restart the game to fix the issue, but if any part of the flight controller gets bumped, I'm back to square one again.
