Severe latency spikes near enemies in BF6 beta – stable FPS, low ping
I've been playing the Battlefield 6 Open Beta on PC for a couple of days now, and I’m running into a frustrating issue that I haven’t been able to resolve despite extensive troubleshooting.
System Specs:
CPU: Intel i7-11800H (8-core, 16-thread)
GPU: RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
Connection: Wired Ethernet – stable ~55ms ping
FPS: Stable throughout gameplay
The Problem:
In Conquest mode (or any large-scale match), I consistently get latency variation and packet loss, especially when I approach enemy players or enter combat-heavy zones. The issue seems tied to proximity to other players. My FPS stays stable, and ping remains around 55ms, but gameplay becomes choppy and unresponsive during these moments.
This does not happen in smaller game modes like domination. The issue is clearly linked to the size of the match or intensity of action.
What I’ve Tried So Far:
Enabled NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency (On + Boost) and set the game to "high performance" in the GPU settings – reduced the issue slightly
Closed all background browser while playing.
Disabled Xbox Game Bar and Game Mode
Ran both the game and Task Manager as administrator
Cannot change process priority due to anti-cheat restrictions (I think this may be important)
Enabled hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
