Redsec Portal bug: no spectate view after squad elimination
Hello everyone,
I would like to report a bug in Redsec Portal matches, both in Arena and Battle Royale modes.
When we create matches in Portal and a squad gets eliminated, the eliminated players cannot properly spectate the remaining players or the squad that eliminated them.
I’m known in the LATAM community as Razor, and I run a community focused on organizing scrims in the currently available Redsec modes, especially Gauntlet and Battle Royale. This issue has been having a significant negative impact on our matches.
Main issues:
- Poor post-elimination experience
Once a player dies, they cannot properly follow the rest of the match, which makes the remaining experience frustrating and boring. - It seems to be a bug, not an intended limitation
I believe this is a bug because when we press ESC, we can sometimes see the squad that eliminated us in the background, but with the HUD overlapping the screen. This makes it look like the spectate function is partially there, but not working correctly.
Because of this, it feels like the game should allow eliminated players to spectate the next squad or properly view the remaining players, but something in the Portal spectating system seems broken.
This is especially important for community matches and scrims, since spectating is a big part of the experience after elimination.
