Severe simulation slowdown / slow motion
I am experiencing severe stuttering, micro-freezes and frequent slow motion behavior while playing Battlefield 6. The issue occurs on all servers, regardless of player count, map or graphics settings. Average FPS remains high and stable, but frame pacing and simulation timing become inconsistent, resulting in slow motion gameplay and heavy stutter. In some cases, the game closes without any error message.
A yellow warning icon appears in the HUD, seemingly related to simulation thread / STR warnings. This icon appears even before intense combat or high load situations, indicating a simulation pacing issue rather than GPU or CPU overload.
Extensive troubleshooting has been performed and hardware, software and network causes have been ruled out.
Key evidence:
Issue occurs on local PC and also on GeForce NOW cloud gaming (different hardware, OS and datacenter)
Issue persists using wired broadband and mobile 5G hotspot
Bufferbloat test grade A+ (no latency increase under load)
Stable ping and bandwidth
High FPS during slow motion events
DxDiag reports no errors
Troubleshooting already attempted:
Clean Windows installation
Latest GPU and chipset drivers
DX12 disabled (forced DX11)
HAGS disabled
VBS / Memory Integrity disabled
NVIDIA Control Panel optimizations
Graphics settings tested from low to medium
Cache cleared and PROFSAVE_profile edited
Manual pagefile configuration
Thermal maintenance (cleaning and repaste)
Power limits and CPU behavior tuned
Tested on different networks and via cloud gaming
System specifications:
Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53
Intel i7-10750H (6 cores / 12 threads)
16 GB DDR4 RAM
NVIDIA RTX mobile GPU (8 GB VRAM)
NVMe SSD
Windows 11 64-bit
144 Hz display
Stable wired connection
Conclusion:
Given that the issue reproduces across different networks, hardware platforms and even cloud gaming, this strongly suggests a Battlefield 6 engine, netcode or simulation thread synchronization issue. I am reporting this as a reproducible engine-level bug rather than a local system problem.
Please advise if logs, captures or further diagnostics are required.
