I am in exactly the same position. I paid full price to play this game for fun in "solo" mode which was a Portal PvE server. I was able to do this for two weeks after launch and then this feature was removed. I tried to get a refund when the feature was removed but it was declined by Steam as I had played too many hours. I'm not fussed about XP or progression, I just want to have an enjoyable experience playing against bots at a more relaxed pace.
If the option to start a PvE server solo doesn't return then this will be the last BF game I'll play unfortunately. It's been very disappointing as a BF fan since 1942 and DC.
Same. Quite frankly, I think it should be illegal to advertise a feature and then remove it AFTER the two-week cut-off for refunds has passed. They had a beta. They could have said after the beta they were removing solo play and I could have refunded and gone on my merry way. Instead, I have a game I'll likely never play again.
I've been a long fan of Battlefield. I played 1942, BF2, 2142, BFBC2, BF3, BF4, BF-1, BFHL, BFV, BF2042, and finally BF6. Before the portal nerf, BF6 was my favorite. Now I can't play because I'm simply too old and slow to compete with younger players, and I can only play maybe 30 min to an hour a day. If bait-and-switch is what I can expect from EA, not only will BF6 be the last BF game I buy, it will be the last EA game I buy. Restore solo play and I might reconsider.
