I second this,
I want to enjoy Battlefield 6, it looks like an impressive step in the right direction for Battlefield. I was excited to play the open Beta this and next weekend and probably buy the game at launch; however, EA has decided to not just ignore but blatantly slap Linux users in the face.
Anti-Cheat does not need to have command and control access to people's system to prevent cheating. Easy Anti Cheat, in-game reporting, vote to kicks have worked fine for many games, (Counter-Strike 2, . I see no reason that EA needs to make an anti-consumer product like Battlefield 6.
With the growing Linux playerbase on PC and on mobile platforms like the Steam Deck I hope that EA will turn around. Though likely with the recent change to Apex Legends I do not see this happening, and instead see a failing EA die slowly to producing more and more anti-consumer products.
