Make the game less COD

People always complain they want "Battlefield to be less like COD". Yet when it comes down to it, people could play a game like Squad, but that game isn't nearly as popular as Battlefield. Remember the Project Reality mod from Battlefield 2? Yeah, it's some of those guys that made Squad as a successor.

Battlefield was never all that grounded or realistic, it was always a casual experience that prioritized fun over realism. 

Battlefield has been a nice middle ground between arcade and milsim.

It is now more in the arcade direction, it needs to pull back to the middle ground.

I don’t know what budget Chinese CoDs you’ve been playing but Not a single BF has ever played anywhere close to a COD lmao.

Even COD4 wasnt anywhere near as clunky as a BF game, even 2042 feels like a clunky low budget indie studio mess compared to COD lmfao and thats the least clunky BF to exist

What exactly is the middle ground?

If Quake is pure Arcade and Squad/ARMA is full milsim, then Battlefield is already somewhere in between.

Battlefield 6 has slower sprinting speed than previous Battlefield titles (aside from running with the knife). Battlefield 1, 5 and 2042 already had sliding. Battlefield 4 had corner jumping, Zouzou jumping etc. Battlefield 2/2142 had prone diving. Battlefield 2042 also had slide jumping that would maintain momentum.

Battlefield hasn't become significantly more arcade over the years. If anything, it's been pretty consistent, even if the movement techniques have changed over the years. Battlefield 1 was the only game that pretty much nerfed movement mechanics into the ground and that really sucked the skill out of movement.

This isn’t the first time you’ve spoken out of your **bleep**. BF6 does play like CoD because it’s literally being spearheaded by the same people who built CoD’s biggest hits: Vince Zampella and Byron Beede. The arcady movement and pacing is their secret sauce. Saying BF6 isn’t like CoD is just willful ignorance talking, so before you run your mouth again, learn who’s behind these games, alright? You can’t argue facts, so you keep pretending they don’t exist. Are you a MAGAt as well?

Battlefield has always occupied a middle ground and that balance is what made the series distinctive. BF6, however, erodes that identity. Bullet physics are gone, movement is a mirror of MW2(09)/MW19, tanks feel lifted straight from MW19 Ground War, and the UI is derivative and uninspiring. The open beta maps reinforce this shift, funneling players into narrow corridors designed to hand casuals unwarranted kills from behind. What once rewarded strategy and skill now prioritizes speed and opportunism. It’s chasing trends and catering to a newer, naive generation.

Bullet physics are gone

Bullet physics aren't gone. What are you even talking about? It's quite likely that you just haven't noticed them because the distances in the beta were mostly negligible. If your scope or sight is zero'd at a default of 100 meters, then of course you're not going to notice much. The issue is that previous battlefield titles exaggerated bullet physics, to make gravity pull far more significant than in real life.

This is just a lie, nothing more. This game doesn't even have tactical sprint. You can't really slide cancel the way you can in COD. You maintain way less momentum when hopping. I could go on and on, but you should get the point.

This is a non-issue and is off-topic.

They deliberately tested smaller maps to stress test the action. Maps in full release are pretty much all bigger. To claim this is some sort of shift is disingenuous. The only thing I can't comment about is the tanks, I never cared about Ground War.

Let's stick to the facts instead of just saying things that aren't even true.

You’re adorable, but nobody’s fooled here. BF6 ballistics are neutered to the point where they may as well be hitscan, gutting one of the series defining traits. Battlefield always exaggerated drop and travel to add depth and nuance to gameplay. Same with movement: you can nitpick tac sprint or slide momentum all you want, but in practice the pacing feels like MW19 because the mechanics feed the same twitchy gfuel reaction loop. And let’s not delude ourselves about the beta maps, they weren’t “stress tests,” they were corridor heavy funnels designed to pander to the CoD audience. That’s a design philosophy….. not a fluke.  

When players say BF6 feels like Call of Duty, it isn’t some mystery. It’s obvious to anyone with an IQ above room temperature, and the only people denying it are either blind or playing unpaid corporate interns. Defending this slop isn’t critical thinking, it’s borderline bootlicking.
