Great observations, I'm sure EA is looking into this now. Regarding your question number 6 about the random Guille soldier, you can easily change it, I didn't know either, go to equipment, choose your class in the bottom right corner, there will be profile 1 which is what you are in and customized, you can press custom, go back to profile 1 and press the "i" key to highlight your favorite soldier and their accessories in the profile.
