In 2011, I ditched MW3 soon as I discovered Battlefield 3 because BF3 was way better. Tell me how BF3 got shut down when all old call of duty games are still active? Weren't people paying to host BF3 servers? A Masterpiece like BF3 deserved much better.
Official console servers were shut down.
There are still private rented BF3 servers on PC although the player count is on life support.
Its been about a year since Ive played on any of them.
Luckily rented BF4 servers still active with some being full almost all day.
Although almost none are DLC maps as they are the hardest to populate.
There's also a revival going on with PS3. Unfortunately I'm on Xbox. Really hoping Steam Machine will be my way back to this masterpiece. Waiting on news.
