Recon - Recitals on Low Magnification Scopes are Terrible... So are Gadgets
Scope glint is poorly implemented.. to the point where tanks can see it, there is no distance where it kicks in, and thermal is insanely red and overly-visible without smoke grenades in the recon kit to even take advantage of the benefit... The only thing glint even does is encourage recons to just get into sniper battles most of the game, completely wasting their time and team's tickets. Most recons are actually just bad players, but Dice certainly doesn't help with mechanics that encourage poor gameplay (not even talking about having no way to mitigate the impact OP spotting has).
To my main point... why are the reticles on low magnification scopes around the 4-5x magnification range (no glint scopes) so terrible?
- the 3-10x variable (1P88 Variable) scope has the absolute best reticle for recon, highly visible and very narrow... HOWEVER there is no way to preset/lock you magnification settings nor choose which magnifications you want to cycle through, so to use it essentially means you get to constantly cycle your scope mags, counting how many you've used and hope you don't break that 6x mag barrier, making all variable scopes nearly unusable.
- Meanwhile, all of the 5 mag scopes are these thick red dots that you can hardly tell which part of someone's head you're aiming at... at mid-range. No wonder so few recon play close-ish to their team, they don't have the gadgets or the reticle to even make that playstyle possible.
PS, there should be no glint within 75 meters... we're talking about a range that the TTK on an LMG or Assault rifle is regularly less than 1 second... you shouldnt be nerfing a class with a 0.2 faster TTK with glint.
