Request for improvements to Portal mode.

Dear EA/DICE team,

I am writing to you as a dedicated Battlefield player who spends a lot of time in Portal mode and really enjoys it. I would like to kindly request a few changes that would significantly improve the accessibility and fun of this mode for many players.

First, please consider lowering the minimum number of players required to start a Portal match from the current 4 to 2 players, while keeping full XP gain and unlocking of weapons, gadgets etc. enabled.

During the week, when most of us work hard, take care of the home and family, it is often difficult to get four people together to have fun. Finding just one additional friend is always much easier. This change would make Portal far more accessible for small groups of friends and duos.

Second, I would appreciate it if matches with bots could support fully balanced games with complete 32-player teams (full 32v32).

Today's restrictions prevent even fair play against bots, which ruins the fun - regardless of the settings in the portal mode admin panel.

Finally, it would be fantastic if you could add an option to manually increase the difficulty level of bots. The current bots are unfortunately too predictable and easy, which makes playing with them lose its appeal quite quickly. An option to select higher difficulty levels (e.g. “Hard”, “Veteran”, “Elite”) would allow those of us who enjoy a real challenge to actually feel the excitement of Battlefield even in bot-filled matches. In Casual Breakthrough mode, bots behave completely differently than in the regular portal verified game mode, and even better under specially adapted conditions on player-made portal maps (where bots can be demanding, making good use of every available equipment, vehicles and equipment on the map).

I believe these relatively small changes would make Portal even more popular and enjoyable for a larger number of players.

Thank you in advance for reading my request and considering it.

There are heaps of options to prevent farming servers and still allow solo PvE game play.

    1. Solo mode like 2042
    2. Cap the maximum XP in a round to prevent farming
    3. Alter the XP rate for all Portal servers
    4. Alter the XP rate for servers with 1 player
    5. Allow 1 player to start the game, but no XP unless other players join

Unfortunately, EA/Dice doesn't care about players like us.

It would be great news if the game's developers decided to return to their original design (abandoning the current restrictions) for Portal mode, giving players greater freedom to create their own matches. However, we know this is impossible due to the farm servers, which put such a heavy load on EA's servers that the entire system eventually crashes. We already experienced this during launch.

For months, many of us have been asking the developers to change this, to create a solo/co-op mode similar to the one in the previous Battlefield 2042 game, where players could play peacefully against bots—without the stress of server downtime and the appearance of a cheater who ruins the experience (as happens in Casual Breakthrough mode).

Most of us, including older veterans, want to play Battlefield for pure fun, not for challenges or achievements – no one cares anymore whether you're level 1 or 10,000, whether you have colorful clothes, maxed out your gear, or just playing the basics. Coming home after a long day at work, you take care of your family, and in your free time, you just want to have fun with friends in a game that will give you positive emotions, not irritation and anger.

When you play online with other players these days, you quickly realize that most of them play solely for the stats, without any teamwork, cooperation, or focus on achieving specific goals assigned to a given game mode – which, as we know, usually ends up happening: you do everything to win, and everyone else doesn't care.

Sorry, but I don't find this kind of game interesting. This may sound old-fashioned, but in previous installments like Battlefield 3 and 4, players had a different mentality; the battlefield situation forced them to take specific actions if they wanted to achieve anything. The current maps in Battlefield 6 are designed for players to basically sit in one place and camp - something players take advantage of quite often.

This game has the potential to be even better. Players will return if the developers finally listen to our requests. They'll keep their word regarding the Portal mode, which was and is one of the main motivators for players to buy Battlefield 6 – so they can play how they want and enjoy it. If they unlock its full potential and develop its features, I'm convinced that most players who left the game will quickly return.

Let Portal servers start with 1 player FFS or let Portal servers start solo with reduced XP. "Play how you want" is how they advertised the game. Arrogance or incompetence has BF bleeding players from a title that could have been amazing if Dice/EA were capable of listening to their community.
