Forum Discussion
I posted this on the last update announcement by the Principal Game Designer, Florian Le Bihan. Hopefully he sees it and we get Solo and Co-op against bots. We’ll see if he cares.
EA_Rtas ... please see that EA's people with authority to make major financial changes see this reply.
At a minimum there are 2 million people (10% of total sales) that bought this game for the campaign and PvE against bots. EA is missing revenue from season pass, skins, xp boost, etc from these people.
Question WHY? ... Answer... EA/Dice changed the game two weeks after launch. It was in Portal we could create Solo against bots games for "Verified Experiences", that is gone now. Put it back please.
This was/is a comment topic on this forum. Many people have told EA they want to play solo or co-op against bots. Let them have back what they bought the game for. In the "PORTAL 101 GUIDE" it says we can do this, but we cannot. Is this on purpose or is the game broken? I say it is broken.
You want 2 million players back playing the game, do what I am telling EA. I believe someone panicked over the "bot farming" issue... without thinking about lost revenue from the PvE players and it drove a whole community of players out of the game
EA_Rtas sending this to devs will do nothing, send it to the top EA mangers that can make money decisions.
Thank you in advance for my request to change BF6 back to game launch capability

I strongly support this point, and I want to add something from the perspective of an actual paying PvE player.
I bought the Battlefield 6 Ultimate Edition on Day One. And in Battlefield 2042, I did not simply play Solo/Co-op against bots and disappear.
I spent money.
I bought skins.
I continued buying Season Passes.
I kept coming back to the game season after season. Why?
Because Solo/Co-op PvE gave me a reason to keep playing Battlefield 2042. For me, PvE was not a “training mode” and it was not something I used to farm XP. It was my preferred way to enjoy Battlefield.
I enjoy the maps, vehicles, weapons, destruction, objectives and the large-scale Battlefield sandbox — I simply prefer experiencing those things against AI, at my own pace.
That PvE experience kept me engaged with BF2042, and because I stayed engaged, I continued spending money on the game.
This is why I believe EA is overlooking something very important:
PvE players are also live-service customers. Removing or severely restricting Solo PvE does not necessarily push us into PvP. In my case, it did the opposite. I did not suddenly become a PvP player.
I went back to Battlefield 2042. So now Battlefield 2042 gets my playtime, while Battlefield 6 — the Ultimate Edition I purchased on Day One — is sitting there barely being played.
And that also means I have far less reason to buy BF6 skins, Battle Passes or other future content. That is a retention and monetization problem, not merely a request for another game mode.
I also think the “bot farming” problem and the “PvE player” problem should never have been treated as if they were the same thing.
If XP farming is the concern, then restrict XP.
Reduce XP from bots.
Disable certain assignments.
Cap progression.
Create separate PvE progression if necessary.I would accept all of those compromises. Just let us play the game. What I want is extremely simple:
Solo / Co-op
→ Conquest or Breakthrough
→ AI teammates and enemies
→ Choose AI difficulty
→ Start the match with one player if I want to.Basically, give us the excellent Solo/Co-op experience Battlefield 2042 already proved can work.
And there is another reason this situation is frustrating: this does not appear to be a request for some technically impossible new feature.
Battlefield 6 already has AI soldiers.
Portal already supports PvE logic.
Bots already capture objectives and participate in Battlefield matches.EA’s own Portal documentation originally described PvE functionality.
So please do not treat PvE players as an edge case or as collateral damage in the fight against XP farming.
We bought Battlefield too. Some of us buy Ultimate Editions. Some of us buy skins. Some of us buy every Season Pass. And some of us would happily continue doing that for years if Battlefield 6 gave us a reason to stay. I am one of those players.
If proper native Solo/Co-op vs AI is added to Battlefield 6, I will come back.
Right now, I am playing Battlefield 2042 instead.
Please understand what that means from both a player-retention and a business perspective.

Well said nontanio.
I bought bf6 day one because of the same reasons.
The way they advertised the game I assumed it would be like the old school days.
Everyone remembers that advertising...
Use the portal play how you want and progress. Burnt my britches with that bait and switch.
