Actually, I like recon teammates, covering my posterior and providing spotting, so I see the enemies around on a minimap. As they are usually far behind, what they should use if not the sniper rifles? If you are dying from snipers a lot, it's best to be still on the move and unpredictable (do not move in the straight line, etc.), it will increase your chances significantly.
