I bought the game for full price, my PC won't boot in UEFI mode which is what I need to enable secure boot, waste of $110 because I can't even play the bloody game

I was under the impression secure boot was on since BF2042 is running with no issues (I read it uses secure boot and it is running even though i dont have it enabled). Yet when BF6 came out, I found out secure boot was not running after all.

Unfortunately reinstalling windows and all apps is not an option, so it would have to wait if I can manage to get another SSD within the next few months

"Some people" are normally the ones not being prepared before starting.
Reinstall windows to enabling Secure Boot is not necessary even when it is a different partition.

Thats the Tool, MS wrote just so everyone could activate Secure Boot years ago.

Please focus on point 3 in my list.

It's pretty odd if you're still on MBR. I think I've been using GPT for more than a decade already.

If you're unable to convert an existing partition, you will have to create a new partition. That means you need to either format your existing SSD, or alternatively if you still have slots available, you can also purchase a new SSD. It does mean, you'll have to run your GPT SSD as bootable disk though.

I've tried converting to GPT  twice and it did not work for some reason

  • Have you checked that the partition table of your SSD is set to GUID Partition Table (GPT)?

If it's still on Master Boot Record (MBR), then UEFI won't allow your PC to boot.

Non of the regular "solutions" online solved anything ... some people are talking about having to reinstall windows and all apps to enable it which is not an option

Sounds like you're mad because your cheats won't run.

The need for Secure Boot was made abundantly clear for months before launch

So, you are not able to maintain your system up-to-date?
Do you know what Secure Boot is? Looking at your post, i expect not, so i leave you some source to read.

There are a lot of guides out there to help to change BIOS into UEFI and turn on Secure Boot.
My suggestion before you do any of it is that:

    1. Update your Windows to the newest version.
    2. Update your Firmware of your Bios to the newest version
    3. Make a backup of your PC or at least your most important files on an external drive

Third points is always "just in case"! After that, take the most trusted guide and do it step by step.

A small tip, if you done everything correctly and yet Windows shows you, that your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart (and repeats to do so), start it in safe mode 1 time to check if it starts there. If so, restart PC and let him boot.
