The latest Q&A has shaken my confidence in BF6
On discord, we've had the latest Q&A, however this time it unfortunately didn't elude to much, or confirm anything we didn't know otherwise. Aside from some corporate non answers, we did get these strange answers:
- Sniping is apparently not where it should be.
- Boats are apparently too weak and don't control right.
- Netcode is still an ongoing mess that they are observing.
- Server browsers, proximity chat, platoons, (and other very basic multiplayer functions that should have been in the game since here start), are apparently "updates to look forward to".
And a multitude of other non answers.
We're constantly asked in surveys, on the forums or other socials what we think of the direction of the game, and instead of getting a clear deep dive, with long form written heavy blogs, heavy development deep dive videos etc, we get corporate slop, to go with the AI generative slop in the store and battlepass.
Drip feeding us this kind of rhetoric, temporary modes that get abandoned, and core modes that are neglected on a technical level doesn't respect anyone's time.
Tsuru and Golmud are ok. A small step in the right direction, but saying "look guys, two big maps!" Doesn't distract from the severe issues with the bugs and technical state of the game, and the sluggish, flat, lack of care that's gone into the title thus far. Battlefield 1 was a great example of how a title should be done. This is honestly a mess, and the Q&A has put a bigger corporate non-answer divide between us and the team even more so.
