You've just completely screwed over a large portion of the player base just now by turning off weapon and attachment XP in portal servers.
I don't have time to play this game all day every day. I will never be able to be on par with other players without being able to unlock attachments and weapons faster. It takes incredibly long in a normal match for casual folks like me to unlock stuff.
I am a legitimate player who plays breakthrough and conquest matches against bots. I am too old and this game is sometimes too fast for me. I just want to relax after work and kill some bots with my friends, or by myself.
Now, i can't. I'm out until this is changed. This was the last straw for me. EA just completely screwed a lot of us over.
This was a great change. Start to play vs humans if you wanna get fair progression like everyone else in a multiplayer game.

My guy, there are quite a few people who enjoy playing against bots. Not everyone has time to spend hours a day playing a game just to get better.

For some of us who have disabilities like Charcot Marie Tooth Syndrome (CMT) That effects your nerves, your sensory and motor skills the Portals were awesome to play in. You take 5 steps on a real server and you get shot by a sniper or get into a situation where you can't think fast enough or have the reflexes to act on it, especially since there are hacks still in BF6 Arctic cheats claims to be undiscoverable. The Portal Exp was one of the man reasons i decided to try Battlefield, it's the first in the series i tried. But I prob won't play it as much now, ever since i noticed the changes and read about it i got on another game i could enjoy more. Bit of false advertising if you ask me
I think the bigger problem is EA said full progression and exp on portal... now they renege on that point after people hand over their cash. That itself should not be encouraged for any company to do whatsoever.
Just wish I could launch my server in the portal. Broken again and cannot launch. EA/Dice cannot keep their word.

It's a GAME, let people play it how They want, it does NOT affect you in any way.
facts, not all of use what to spend $100 and be forced to play with hackers, aim bot, and console kids on pc with zero cross play options.

100% agree, I am 73, run a discord server for for older BF6 players, fair few have expressed huge disappointment at the foolhardy move by Dice ..

Portal full xp progression and bots feature was announced. It is not up to toxic players to decide how to play the game and buy it. Those crying about turning off xp progression must be crazy. You bought the right to play the game with money. If I can't see the feature, you gave me incomplete goods. If the feature is not there, it is called misleading content.
People complaining about "unfair" progression? it's actually totally fair, as it was a mode available to everyone, just not your play style.
What people are missing is that it's not about fairness, but about monetization. They want to sell you the weapon XP boost, they need those to do microtransactions. THATS THE ISSUE. With not farms, they lose the $$$$
EA you better revert this or my support will end this is such a massive L to stroke the ego's of toxic dumdums on X that are offended by big numbers on people's profiles that they probably don't even check that often if at all people should be allowed to play how they want as well as some of your challenges are literally impossible without it
I just want my hardcore servers back, the ones with Dice's rulesets and no bots that they made only available through portal because it would have full XP gain anyway. Idgaf about ppl grinding out challenges against bots, go hard, as long as EAs servers can handle the load and I can play my hardcore servers why not.

Removing experience points from the Portal mode is a false advertising practice. Immediately restore the full experience points in the Portal mode as promoted in your advertisements. This is yet another scam reminiscent of 2042. All PvE players are advised to request refunds and leave negative reviews on Steam if possible. BF6 = 2042.

Man what I'll say will suck for you to read, but Battlefield 6, like all the previous Battlefield title, is a multiplayer game, multi >player< game, it's a game created from it's core to be people playing together/against one another on a sandbox-ish environment.
Battlefield 6, like all previous Battlefield title, is NOT a single player game, it has a campaign but that's clearly not the main focus of the game, it's just there to keep tradition and DICE can't risk another controversy by not having a campaign mode, it was clearly an issue in BF 2042 and they don't want to repeat it on their last shot at making a good game.
Those arguments of "I work and I don't have time to play 294758 hours like my opponents" or "I'm too old for this game" are such a dumb and baseless arguments. Yeah, we can't be kids/adolescents playing BF3 with all the time in the world anymore, but you also don't need to be 87/3 every single game. You and all of the people who uses those arguments like crutches to justify them sucking at the game would be so much happier by just admitting "maybe I'm not that good anymore, but guess what? The game is pretty fun regardless!". It's okay to suck at the game, K/D is a dumb metric anyways, you can be the top 1 player on the lobby without shooting a single bullet, just doing objectives and supporting your team.
It's not fair for the game to have a mode where you can play against literal bots and have 100% progression, and if you think otherwise, you're just spoiled, I'm sorry to say. While people are playing the game fair and square, you are 381/5 playing against bots, getting all of the attachments, challenges done and weapons unlocks. Do you really think that is fair? Be honest with yourself, is that fair? Because that is not even close to being fair.
I've seen people playing this game without a single kill having a blast by reviving and supplying their team; I've seen a 70 years old playing Sniper because that "simulates" the time he used to be an actual Sniper in real life; I've seen people playing vehicles only and having a great time. That's the fun in Battlefield, you can play in so many ways, unlike most Shooters in the market.
Games are made to be fun to play, if you are not having fun for whatever reason, don't play that game; you said it yourself, you are a busy person, go play something worth the precious time you have spare. Either find your own way to have fun playing Battlefield 6 (remember, K/D is just a dumb metric to evaluate your contribution), or admit to yourself that this game is just not for you, and that is also okay.
And no, they didn't kill the game, this will also suck to hear, but you are not important, the game will get by just fine without you and the very low percentage of players that wants/plays bots only matches. The game is the top selling on Steam right now and 307k current players on Steam only, Battlefield themselves made Steam break it's current active players record, they have a Free Battle Royale mode coming next week; this game is FAR from dead.
Oh and just to add, yes they promised full progression within Portal, not full progression against bot matches within Portal, just saying :)
Fairness? So it's fair for someone older and slower to go up against a teenager who also has AA.... add on that these AA using sweats are rocking the best tuned weapon because they're racking up 30, 40 or even 50+ kills per match, versus the old slow guy who's lucky to get 3 - 8 kills per match, who has no AA since they're on K+M and has a garbage gun with almost no attachments!?!? *snip*

I created a Portal server that is Conquest with all the maps and teams switch after each round like how BF used to be before this ignorant quick match system. Now because of crybabies like you the server is worthless

Except when you play, but spend all your time respawning because you ARE old and cant play like you used to. Other than the fact that there werent enough server spaces, what did my playing bots hurt ? How much fun it is to spawn, die, spawn, die, and merely serve as points for you to get your upgrades and xp. From the beginning, Portal was a selling point to us old guys who cant compete like we used to.
Half the fun is the GRIND to improve the kits, but not if it takes hours to get a bipod or laser upgrade because you cant stay alive long enough. Telling us to 'get gud' or argue semantics about full progression with or without bots, is ridiculous. They sold the game with "full progression". That means WITH BOTS. We are complaining because we were sold something and now they changed it. I dont see why it should bother you at all. Just go back and continue to **bleep** the noobs until they stop playing....oh wait, thats Call of Duty. I guess thats what you would rather have this game be
