The changes to the claymore are really an issue.
First and foremost, it's a gadget that needs to be able to kill, or it's useless. The whole point is to set it down and move away, which means I'm not around to take advantage of partial damage, and I can't count on anyone else being there either. It's not like mines for a tank, where you can set down several and hitting one will at least immobilize it.
Currently, I'm getting a lot of 80-90 damage, and no assist afterwards, meaning the enemy survived and went on their merry way.
I would also question WHY the change was made. It's not like the battlefield was littered with claymores, they were not a constant bane that players had to deal with every time they tried to move. And if a claymore is placed in a place where it is difficult to defuse safely, well isn't that just well played by the recon?
So for me the changes are unwelcome and did not address a strong need.
I do want to point out that on top of that, placement of the claymores have become more of an issue. They were already some niggles: not being able to place because of decor (a single wire or mat on the ground is enough to block placement), claymores disappearing into the floor when placed (and thus being unretrievable, something that happens most often on the second floor of houses).
It got worst since the update. Too often, I get the claymore outline where I want it, but when placing, it jumps into another, usually entirely inappropriate, position. It's been fairly frustrating, having to place, retrieve, place again a few times to get it where I want.
