When are infantry getting a chance against little bird

Lets begin in reality [game] you need three igla [pish] to bring down a chopper 1 for him to flare and two hits to bring it down.Your igla [pish] reloads  so slowly that all the chopper does is drop low [pish] recharge flares and your a sitting duck .Either give the grunts more hitting power one hit does the bird in or get rid of the below radar [pish]Attack choppers can still be two hit as Iam sure they are structurally way more robust than the little bird .

No, we are meant to die again and again to those flying menaces.

There was this weird bit in the season 3 thread: "do you think the Mini Bird is properly balanced now?" or something like that. No idea where that came from, that bird has never been nerfed in any way.

The thing has speed, maneuverability, mini-guns and rockets. It needs to have SOME vulnerability to balance all that out.

I would start by making it a lot more vulnerable to conventional guns. Force it to make full speed runs, instead of stopping on a dime, hovering above you, and taking all day to gun you down. It would at least force them to make use of their speed, and give infantry a chance to push them back, if at least temporarily.

They could give the engineer a smoke grenade to try and hide the usual tactic is fly round the map low of course  pop behind you and your dead .Choppers get  warning in coming where the poor old grunt just gets red misted ,Seriously though are the devs unaware of the unbalance afford the little bird or are they to afraid of dwindling numbers to address the issuse ?

  • The little bird's mini guns are way too powerful for being 7.62x51 rounds. I usually dedicate the game to taking out helis most games to help my team. The RPG-7 is the only real way for infantry to take them out in 1 shot, unless you're a good shot with a sniper.

  • I think a good nerf would be to just remove one of the mini guns.  The LB dominates other air, it dominates ground armor, and dominates infantry.  The AA launchers are so junk because of all the ego boost concessions made to helo pilots, too high too low too close too far too this too that missed missed missed missed missed.  Not to mention that every leaf of any plant will cause your lock from a launcher to break, so a helo within a nautical mile of any tree can almost never be locked.

    Changes:

    1. Flares should not be able to be locked on.  This effectively changes the flare cooldown to 6 seconds from it's intended 11.  If you can't lock the helo because there's a flare, it doesn't matter that the flares are on CD.  Change it to make the helo immune to locks for several seconds, retain the break of current locks.
    2. Too low needs to be TOO LOW, not high enough to still safely maneuver and fire your weapons.  Helos should not be able to fly over the tops of trees and be "too low".
    3. Too close shouldn't break lock, it should only cause the launcher not to fire.  It's beyond annoying that a helo can just swoop you, your lock breaks, and by the time you can lock again it's long gone or behind the leaf of a tree.
    4. Trees and other foliage need a much smaller box where they interfere with locks.  "But then the helo can get locked where they can't see!"  Yea, well, that's why God gave them a annoying beeper that screams that they're being locked on to.
    5. Engi's need less rockets in combination.  As a pilot, you have to constantly deal with the locks and missiles because every one and their mother is carrying several millions of dollars worth of equipment.  Having this many rockets also means the air HAS to have all the counters it does.  There is a reason the real Battlefield games did not give everyone SIX ROCKETS.

I can easily think of more changes, but this is a fair start for balancing both sides in my mind.  If they had just looked at Battlefield 3 and 4 and actually asked "Why are the mechanics the way they are?" we wouldn't be where we are today.

These little freaks with propellers are the reason why me and my friends stopped playing BF altogether.

It's not fun and our time is too valuable these days to be worrying about unbalanced helicopters. And completely useless AA rocket launchers.

It could be my skill issue but I want to have fun with the game. Not get nervous.

The helicopter imbalance is the biggest reason I hardly ever play Battlefield 6 anymore.

It's so **bleep** frustrating and boring being farmed by helicopters that have

    • Magical unlimited flares
    • Magical below radar lock on
    • Magical vehicle repair

And to top that all off anti-air is complete trash alongside the anti-air vehicle itself.
