Wrongful Ban in BF6 due to reWASD – New Steam copy blocked

I am posting to seek a human review for a ban on my 12-year-old EA account.

The Situation: Two months ago, my account was permanently banned in Battlefield 6 battleroyal for "Game Enhancement/Cheating." I have never used aimbots or wallhacks. However, I do have reWASD installed on my PC. I use this software exclusively to map my PS5 DualSense controller for games that don't have native support or for specific accessibility layouts.

I understand that reWASD has recently been flagged by EA's anti-cheat, but I was not using it to gain a competitive advantage or to spoof mouse-and-keyboard as a controller.

The Current Conflict:

I appealed the case more than a month, but it has remained "In Progress" while I continued playing FC 26 on the same account without issues.
Today, I purchased a new retail copy of Battlefield via Steam to play with a friend.
Because my Steam is linked to this 12-year-old EA account, I am being blocked from playing the new copy I just paid for.

Request for Assistance: I am a long-time member of this community and have a clean record across a decade of Battlefield titles. I am requesting:

1- A manual review of my case regarding the reWASD false positive.
2- Advice on how to access the new copy of the game I purchased, as the current account link is preventing me from playing a game I legally own.

Case ID: #230561909

  • Hi ali_offline,

I'm really sorry, but the only way of having a ban reviewed is through the appeal process that you've initiated already. It's not something that can be done or escalated here, unfortunately.

You could try contacting EA Help through help.ea.com to ask if they can give any update, but I'm not sure how much they'll be able to see.

It'd probably be worth seeing if you can get a refund for the second copy you purchased. Since your linked EA account is currently banned, you won't be able to unlink your Steam account from it.

My EA account is actually in good standing and I can play my other titles without issue; the ban is exclusive to BF6. I previously tried the 'REDSEC' and was banned because I had reWASD installed on my PC. Completely forgetting about that restriction, I recently purchased the full game on Steam, only to find I'm still blocked and unable to get a refund.

I’ve found EA Help to be unresponsive, as they simply provide links stating that reWASD is flagged as a cheating tool regardless of whether it was actively used. It’s frustrating because EA wasn't transparent about this from the start. If they chose to treat legitimate software as a cheat, they should have implemented a warning within the EA App or in-game to disable it before launching.

Instead, they banned players first and explained the reason later. While the game now prompts users to disable it in order to play, that fix came far too late for the many players who had already been permanently banned.
