Audio choppy, sometimes cuts out entirely

Title.

I can run the game, i've changed every audio setting i can find, i've updated my audio drivers, my BIOS, verified game files, updated graphics drivers, set graphics to low.

Audio is really choppy, especially during explosions and such, and sometimes the audio just disappears entirely, and the only way to get it back is to restart the game.

it's only the game audio that cuts out. my discord and even youtube videos will play fine when this is happening.

Core i7 9700k, 3080TI FTW, 64GB RAM, M.2 storage

My CPU/Ram/GPU are not capping. FPS is mostly fine.
