Battlefield 6 — Game crashes immediately after splash black box close
Game crashes immediately after splash -> black box -> close
Summary: Since the Battlefield 6 Beta I have been completely unable to launch the game. It crashes immediately after the splash screen with a small black box titled Battlefield 6, then closes without error. After over 30 hours of troubleshooting, BIOS changes, PowerShell scripts, reinstalls, and log tracing, the issue appears to come from the EA Javelin AntiCheat installer not detecting Battlefield 6. This prevents the service from installing and the game from launching.
System Specs: CPU AMD Ryzen 9 9800X3D | GPU NVIDIA RTX 5090 | RAM 64 GB DDR5 | Motherboard ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero | BIOS 3205 (UEFI, Secure Boot ON) | OS Windows 11 Pro (Build 26100.6725) | TPM 2.0 Ready | Secure Boot Enabled | Platform Steam
Beta Troubleshooting: Closed all overlays, ran Steam and EA App as administrator, verified and repaired files, repaired EA AntiCheat installer, cleared EA App cache, updated GPU drivers, deleted shader cache, confirmed UEFI/Secure Boot active, toggled Core Isolation, ran SFC/DISM, performed clean boot, removed all overclocking, checked Event Viewer. Even with all that, the beta never loaded past the splash.
Post Release Troubleshooting: Redid BIOS, UEFI, TPM, folder rebuilds, and reinstalls. Steps: 1) BIOS and OS setup verified. 2) Deleted all AntiCheat folders and registry keys. 3) Reinstalled Battlefield 6 on Steam. 4) Verified directory contains EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe and EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe. 5) Running installer as admin works but Battlefield 6 is not in dropdown. Clicking install gives “EA Javelin AntiCheat installation failed – please reinstall game.” Logs are empty. Event Viewer shows “EAAntiCheatService - Failed retrieving service path.”
Manual Service Test: Tried creating service manually using sc.exe create. Got System Error 87 (parameter incorrect).
Current Behavior: Splash appears, black Battlefield 6 window flashes, then closes. No error, no logs, service missing.
Assessment: This appears to be a Javelin AntiCheat detection bug affecting the Steam version of Battlefield 6. Installer never detects the game, preventing service install and initialization.
Other users with AMD 7000 CPUs and RTX 4090/5090 report identical issues (no game in dropdown, black crash, missing service).
Personal Note: After being unable to play the beta, I was hopeful for release. I paid over $100, upgraded hardware, and spent 30+ hours troubleshooting, yet still cannot play. I’ve verified BIOS, TPM, Secure Boot, UEFI, permissions, and logs. There’s nothing left to fix locally.
Please escalate this to the Javelin AntiCheat developers or release a patch for the Steam build so players like me can finally play the game we purchased.
TLDR: Game crashes immediately after splash -> black box -> close. EA AntiCheat installer does not detect Battlefield 6 (Steam). Service fails to install. Issue exists since Beta and persists post release. All configs verified. Needs patch or updated installer.
