I started having these crashes after the first update, not before - the one with redsec and the oil field map etc. I have a 9070XT. One post I saw said to go into AMD Adrenaline and under "tuning" set it to "efficiency" rather than stock (I believe this lowers performance by about 5% but I haven't noticed a difference) - I didn't crash since and it's been weeks of playing it practically every day. So, I think just setting your GPU to stock might not be enough because some cards, stock is still OC - try an underclock mode. I was hoping 1.1.1.5 might fix it but I can't find any info that says it has and I don't want to test as crashing mid game on a good spree is really demoralising.
