cannot launch game, get splash screen then black box, THEN CRASH back to EA App

The game crashes to desktop without displaying any error message when I click on difficulty selection for single player. I have no issues in multiplayer.

I was having similar but slightly different issue, but found a fix. When I went into matchmaking (any), the game would crash back to desktop (no error message) as soon as a match was found. I couldn't get past the matchmaking screen. I could play the campaign just fine though. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game initially, and then also uninstalled the EA app. I also have a friend that uninstalled their EA app before playing the game and they had no issues. They have the same computer and graphics settings I do. The EA app was the only difference! Give that a try.

Having the same issue as OP, then it started working randomly and had to take a break came back to play the single player Campaign and now back to crashing. tried all the tricks suggested (I'm on steam) and dont have EA app running. the multiplay sider of things works fine, guess we know where your priorities are in your game development.

you sure make it difficult to like a game

Yesterday it worked randomly after I updated my Nvidia drivers so I thought that was the fix. Now I just wanted to continue and same story as before. The game just closes again as soon as I launch the campaign. No error, nothing. Not using the EA app because I have it on Steam.  No idea what to do.. It really makes me question the purchase.. The fun is not there atm.

(Steam install) Mine crashes everytime I launch/resume my campaign. Launches and works everytime i change my Vsync settings on or off.

Mine is doing the same thing. 

The first response here hijacks the conversation and brings it elsewhere. Campaign is not working. No errors… just black screen, then crash. 

worked fine yesterday. 

3 days now and still the same issue.  I've tried all the fixes I've seen (close ea app, change vsync to off or on, change graphics setting, disable windows defender).  Nothing has worked yet, have yet to be able to play the campaign.

I bought this game primarily for the campaign.
Multiplayer runs perfectly, 60fps at quality settings.
Launching the campaign through the difficulty menu or clicking "start mission" will casue the game to freeze, and then crash with absolutely no error message.

Game is purchased through steam.
I have tried:
Reinstalling
Verifying game files
Disabling Single Player HD Textures & Verify
Disabling Multiplayer Marker/ HD Marker & Verify
Disabling all overlays (Nvidia and Discord
Adding exception in antivirus (windows defender) for battlefield exe

Game's been out for days now, and still nothing. Really really disappointed, I don't want to play more multiplayer, as if I can't get the single player to work I'll just refund it.

We’ve recently identified a possible contributing factor:
It looks like some antivirus programs may be falsely detecting the single-player executable and blocking it from running.

Please try the following:

1. Check your antivirus software to see if it has flagged or quarantined the single-player executable.
2. If so, add an exception / allow list entry for the game’s single-player .exe file and then try launching the campaign again.

This has helped a few players get back into the game immediately.

Additionally, if you’re still experiencing the crash even after adding an exception, it would really help us if you could reply here with:

• The name of your antivirus software (e.g., Windows Defender, Avast, BitDefender, etc.)
• Whether or not adding the exception resolved the crash
