SOLVED - I had a USB flash drive in my PC that I was transferring some movies to yesterday and forgot to remove it. after removing it I could connect normally.

my bad, I understood you as if you had the same issue yesterday and you fixed it by restarting your device and game twice. fingers crossed so both of us get some valuable input today!
