Dropping to 1 fps

Hello,

I have an issue where when I'm playing the game drops to 1fps and won't recover until I toggle the quality settings.

This appears to be different to the memory leak others are reporting however as this can happen every few seconds rather than a low decline in FPS over a number of games.

I don't believe this is directly related to the memory leak bug either as I only use 5200mb of VRAM which doesn't increase. I have a 16gb card so there's plenty of headroom. I keep my settings on low as higher settings make the fps drop less responsive when in the menus.

Frames will drop from 140fps to 1fps in a moment without any warning.

It does appear to be related to the maps - the new golf course map is horrific and I will probably have to reset every 30 seconds or so.

The oil fields are another poor performer but that might be every few minutes.

Being in a chopper will cause it to trigger faster too which I assume might have something to do with more information on the screen?

Specs:

5800X3D

6950XT

32GB Ram

Installed on NVME

Things I've tried:

Updating driver

Uninstalling drivers via DDU and conducting a fresh install

Removing HD texture pack

Toggling various upscale options

I've attached a video below - just imagine this happening multiple in within a few minutes all game, every game.

JowshFTW it looks like the GPU is stalling because the GPU is dropping down to 4fps. Usually if it were a CPU issue than the CPU would drop to a low FPS but the GPU would stay at high fps. That's not happening here, so it's most likely a GPU issue.

I believe the graphics card isn't plugged into the motherboard all the way. In the HWiNFO screenshot the graphics card is running at PCIe x8 speed instead of x16 speed.

This usually happens when the graphics card isn't fully plugged into the motherboard all the way. Try removing the graphics card and then plug it back into the motherboard.

Then check HWiNFO and see if the graphics card is running @ x16 speed. Let us know if this fixes the issue.

If I don't reply to your post then personal message me. Sometimes the forum fails to notify me when someone replies.

OskooI_007 I reseated the GPU and it now reads as x16 on HWinfo - this however hasn't fixed the issue. I tested on Eastwood and immediately had the lag before even spawning in.
