E_NOINTERFACE Crash at 1080p on RTX 5060 Laptop
Hello,
Battlefield 6 consistently crashes with the following DirectX error:
DirectX function "m_swapChain->Present(syncInterval, presentFlags)"
failed with E_NOINTERFACE ("Operation aborted.")
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU
Driver: 581.95
File: SwapChainPcDx12.cpp
The game is stable in windowed mode and can also run at 1280x720 fullscreen. However, it crashes immediately when:
- switching from Windowed to Borderless or Fullscreen at 1920x1080,
- changing the resolution from 1280x720 to 1920x1080,
- or launching directly at 1920x1080 fullscreen/borderless.
System:
- Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10, Type 83JE
- Intel Core i5-13450HX
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU
- Intel UHD Graphics
- 24 GB RAM
- Windows 11 Pro, build 26200
- Internal display: 1920x1080
Troubleshooting already completed:
- Verified/repaired game files
- Reset Battlefield settings and shader cache
- Cleared NVIDIA DXCache
- Disabled NVIDIA, Discord and Xbox overlays
- Disabled Frame Generation, HDR, Smooth Motion and DLSS overrides
- Tested V-Sync on/off
- Tested HAGS on/off
- Tested 60 Hz and 144 Hz
- Tested Windowed, Borderless and Fullscreen
- Tested Hybrid graphics and dGPU-only mode
- Reinstalled Lenovo OEM Intel graphics driver
- Tested multiple NVIDIA drivers
- Installed Lenovo OEM NVIDIA driver through Lenovo Vantage
- Disabled fullscreen optimizations
- Rebooted after each driver/GPU-mode change
The exact same E_NOINTERFACE error occurs in both Hybrid and dGPU-only modes. The game itself is stable until the display mode or resolution changes to 1920x1080. This appears to be a swap-chain recreation/presentation issue rather than general GPU instability.
Another user has now confirmed the exact same error:
m_swapChain->Present(syncInterval, presentFlags)
E_NOINTERFACE
SwapChainPcDx12.cpp
Their system is also a Lenovo laptop, but with an RTX 5050 Laptop GPU. The issue appeared after the Season 4 update and persists after reinstalling and updating drivers.
This suggests a possible Season 4 regression affecting Lenovo laptops with RTX 50-series mobile GPUs.
I have attached:
- Screenshot of the DirectX error
- DxDiag report
Please investigate or forward this to the Battlefield PC rendering team.
