Same problem here with my son. I can login fine, but he gets the 1:86001S:89001S:9C:-13561655840 error.
It sounds like it'll be to do with a child's account not being linked to a "full fat" EA account with with a true email behind it rather than the @anonymous.ea.com nonsense. Coincidently, that it making linking his account with associated progression to the Steam version also impossible, which is frustrating, but not as frustrating as him being locked out of the Xbox version for days on end now.
Ha'way EA, get it sorted man.

Any one have any new info or updates? I have contacted EA support chat three different times, and unfortunately get three different answers. Really seems like no one at EA knows what is going on.

I did notice when I first launched Season 1 on my sons console under my account, it asked me to confirm a tick box to enable marketing emails (or something along them lines). As child EA accounts are not linked to a true email address, my gut says this is where and why the game craps out when a child account launches it. If It is this (or something similar) it's just a case of getting EA to acknowledge it and patch it - the more of us who submit support tickets the better.
But the question is: where can we escalate this properly? This situation is unacceptable, and the solution can’t be to create new accounts for our kids. EA really needs to fix this. There were no issues like this with 2042.

every ticket that I submit they close due to them not having a solution to the issue. It is very frustrating

Anyone else experiencing the weird quirk that the intro for Battlefield Studios is unskippable when logging in with an affected account? Or just me? When using a account unaffected of the bug, it is skippable.
Probably an unrelated problem but still odd. - Malletire5 days agoSeasoned Traveler
Yeah, I was kinda looking forward to playing Redsec duos with my younger sibling but now their account is experiancing this error, Very frustrating as other Battlefiled games works just fine on that account.
Is there any idea to try to get in touch with any of the Battlefield Studios directly or game devs? I know there's probably not an issue on their end and there's maybe little that they can do... but they should be concerned that a sizable (I'm guessing here, based on which kind of account are affected) portion of potential players are hardlocket out of the game. - DefaultUserOne4 days agoSeasoned Rookie
I finally managed to get my son access to play this game. The "fix" is what others have stated as well. You'll need to create a fake EA account and link that account to your child's Xbox Gamertag. I had to verify a ton of stuff with EA Support via chat to have the child EA account un-linked so that I can create a new link to the newly created EA account. You have to have support un-link the account first though.

The issue comes down to the way that EA has migrated the age-restricted EA accounts from years ago. You can't actually log into the EA accounts for a child because it's essentially linked to the parent account. I believe the child account email address is listed with an anonymous.ea.com email domain. So, when you try to start up Battlefield 6 (after the update), it tries to link to the parent account. Since you can't have two Gamertag linked to the same EA account, the child account is most likely NOT going to have access. That's why it fails when it tries to connect to the online services. My best guess is that the issue started with the Battle Pass addition and possible Phantom edition purchasing options. I guess it was designed so that in-game purchases can't be shared, which kinda makes sense.
This is an extremely janky system that EA has in place for these accounts. It involves creating a "fake" kids account in which the child account loses all previous progress due to the account switch. I also don't think that EA is going to place this issue as a priority as it only affect a small subset of users.
I know it's not the answer that we want, but it at least lets our kids play the game that we paid for.

It feels quite bizzare that you have to lose all progress on other games to solve this issue. Not to mention that Battlefield 2042 has/had the exact same monetization system as Battlefield 6 and that game is not experiencing the same issue.
What kind of things did you have to verify? I'm trying to help my sibling with this issue but I'm not their legal guardian or anything. Mostly because our parents know very little of video games and are not very tech savy. So it's a bit harder to fix for me. At this point I'm probably giving up, because the options to fix it involves losing all progress on other games and I'm not sure it's worth it. - WekHunter4104 days agoSeasoned Novice
