High ping spikes and incorrect ping warning after Season 3 update
Hi,
Since the Battlefield 6 Season 3 update, I’ve been having severe ping issues that make the game unplayable, even though everything was perfectly fine before.
What the problem looks like:
I play BF6 on Steam, on PC, using a wired Ethernet connection.
My internet connection is stable and fast (around 300 Mbps download).
Before Season 3 my ping was always stable around 20–30 ms and the game felt smooth.
After the Season 3 update, my ping on the scoreboard (TAB) still shows around 20–30 ms, but:
I constantly get warnings on the main HUD that my ping is 200–300+ ms or even higher.
In actual gameplay I get heavy lag, rubber‑banding and delays that feel like very high ping.
These problems happen on multiple servers and game modes.
So there is a mismatch: the scoreboard shows a low ping, but the game behaves and warns me as if my ping was extremely high, and it’s basically not playable.
What I already tried:
Restarted router and PC.
Playing only via Ethernet (no Wi‑Fi).
Closed all background apps that might use bandwidth.
Flushed DNS and reset network settings in Windows.
Changed DNS (Google → Cloudflare) as a test.
Verified the game files on Steam.
Enabled the network performance graph in BF6.
Disabled gameplay data sharing / telemetry where possible.
The problem started exactly with the Season 3 update and did not exist before. Other online games on the same PC and connection work fine and have stable ping.
Request:
Is this a known issue with Season 3 / netcode or the ping display?
Can you confirm whether the HUD ping warning might be bugged or desynced from the real server ping?
Is there any additional troubleshooting specific to BF6 Season 3 that I can try, or are there plans for a fix in an upcoming patch?
I can provide screenshots of the scoreboard ping (20–30 ms) and the HUD warning (200–300+ ms), plus clips showing the lag, if needed.
Thanks in advance for any help.
