Since yesterday I have been trying to understand why my game is so laggy due to high latency and packet loss. I had absolutely no problem during open BETA, game ran flawlessly. Now I cant engage any ...
Long story short, the standard EA matchmaking servers are 60hz tick rate servers - and your CPU may not be able to consistently handle that. If you go to the server browser you can find servers that are 30hz tick rates, and they work absolutely fine.
This has been my experience - if I join from the "quick play" or whatever you want to call it from the main menu, the game is unplayable. If I go to the server browser and join a server, everything is perfectly fine. The only downside is that I can't get a "normal" BF6 experience - ie, all conquest all maps. No special rules, no 1000% tickets, no hardcore modes, no "one single map on rotation".
Playing on an EA hosted server, STR of 60hz and a TN of 381
Playing on a custom server, STR of 30hz and a TN of 26ms
What a crock of... So for anyone that can't get a 99% stable 60fps, official servers are out of the question. If you set everything to the bare minimum graphics at 1080p and your system dips below 60fps in a massive firefight on an official server, then custom servers are the only option.
Ryzen 7 3700x, Nvidia RTX 2080 Super, 64GB RAM - pretty on par with the minimum recommended specs from EA, with the exception that they suggest a 3060ti which is only marginally better than the 2080 Super.
I set everything to the bare minimum and tried playing on an official server, and anytime something intensive was going on, the framerate would dip into the 50's and my TN would go into the 400's.
