Matchmaking & Console Preferred Crossplay Issue

Hi,

Firstly, I have to say that matchmaking is terrible. It was not like this in BETA. Especially in regions like SEA (I am from Singapore), Oceania. There are too many playlists splitting the player base...and it is not filtering us to fill up empty lobbies first. You can test this by starting matchmaking, then while it is finding players, quit to lobby and start matchmaking again, you will join another almost empty server/map. Rinse and repeat and if you are lucky, you will join a more player filled round.... this is frustrating. I do not want to be playing with bots as they spawn anywhere and spoil the flow especially in conquest.

Second, it was stated that with crossplay on, if we are on console the game will match us with console players. This is not the case....my friend is on Xbox and I am on PS5, 99% of the time our lobbies are 99.9% PC. Crossplay off will hardly get a full lobby unless I VPN to Japan where it is better at certain timings.

These two issues are the main points that is causing me frustration playing BF6. I do not wish to play with BOTS unless I specifically choose to. Please fix this the matchmaking, reduce playlist options or just give us persistent official servers in the server browser. Why do EA and Dice wants to die on the hill of matchmaking. This has been an issue since 2042. In pre-2042 BFs we can choose matchmaking or most of us just go to browser and find the most filled server or a server that caters to the experience we are seeking.

Many people have commented on these issues, but I have not seen one dev or community manager address this.

  • Forget it. Smaller markets like yours, mine (South America), Australia, New Zealand, etc., will never be heard. And you know why? Because in the big markets, this problem doesn't exist. Last night, I don't know why, maybe some bug, my matches started being matched with North American servers... rooms full of console players with crossplay turned off... one match would end, and another room would form in a matter of seconds... rooms full of players... 32x32!!! The ping was high... around 150-200... but I was in paradise. What a fun game, what a difference from the frantic rush of matches full of PC players. That discouraged me... knowing that crossplay turned off works in the bigger markets gave me the certainty that we will never have EA's attention to solve our problems in smaller markets. Sad.

It is sad..my only solution to enjoy full console lobby is to VPN to Japan....which is ok, I get abt 70ping most times, 150 at night somehow. I just hope they can improve this matchmaking issue for regions outside NA and EU.

  • Thank you for saying what most are thinking! Naturally console matchmaking should be xbox and ps. The option to open crossplay to pc should be an option but the amount of hot-keys definitely put console at a disadvantage and sours the experience for console players
