TEMPORARY hopefully WORKAROUND Choose change resolution (tab on the left in the nvidia control panel) to 2560x1440 with the scaling set. HT to Xlayt on Reddit for this workaround.

Workaround for AMD GPUs:
Unfortunately you can't specify display resolution in AMDs Control Panel.
But if you open Windows 11 Display Settings go to the Graphics Card Driver and list all modes and choose your preferred Resolution. Windows will now display this resolution with the desired black screens on the side. GPU scaling in Adrenaline is on and set to centered.
Afterwards you need to adjust the resolution ingame to the same resolution as you set before.
Please let me know if a detailed how to is needed. I could document the steps with a few screenshot.
