Outrageous VRAM leak

If you switch from campaign to multiplayer, none of the campaign data gets cleared from memory.

So multiplayer claims that "other apps" are taking up 7+ gigabytes of VRAM.

This brings the total VRAM usage to 12GB, which is my entire capacity, and so performance takes a nosedive.

I'm forced to restart my PC to get normal frame rates again.

I haven't played the campaign, but I'm getting something similar. I jump into a round, and I start with around 8 GB usage, and then slowly over the course of about 5 minutes, it will increase until maxing out. At that point, my fps goes from 160 to less than 40.

I reverted to 581.29, and it fixed the issue for me. I used Display Driver Uninstaller and then installed it after a restart.

Same problem, impossible to play, is there a solution to this problem or are the developers aware of it?

I'm having the same issues. I've got a RTX 5070ti and after about 30 minutes of multiplayer, my VRAM has gone from 8.1GB to about 15.4+GB. I will get frame drops even in the map when I am trying to choose where to deploy. It's sad that the open beta ran better than the game's official launch. We are almost 2 weeks in now, and there hasn't been a single thing from the devs addressing this issue.

  • Using an AMD graphics card with 8GB of VRAM, I have to set texture quality to LOW (without HD packs), otherwise the frame rate drops noticeably after a few matches. Even on LOW settings, VRAM usage reaches around 7GB, which is honestly insane and the textures look terrible compared to older Battlefield titles.
