Severe Server-Side Latency in BF6 (TN Spikes 200–1000ms)
Here’s a more natural, forum-style post meant for EA Support forums, no word limit, clear but still strongly worded:
Title: Severe Server-Side Latency in Battlefield 6 (TN Spiking 200–1000ms Across Official Servers)
Post:
Hi everyone,
I’ve been trying to play Battlefield 6 for the past few days and the server-side latency has been so bad that the game is basically unplayable. I’m used to dealing with occasional lag in online games, but this is on another level.
At first, I assumed the problem was on my end. I tested everything: my ping in BF6 stays under 30 ms, my internet runs at 900 Mbps down / 55 Mbps up, and I’m not having issues with any other online game. My system and network are stable. But in the in-game network graph, the TN (Total Network) values constantly spike anywhere from 200 ms all the way up to 1000 ms.
This isn’t happening in niche modes either — this is in Conquest on multiple official servers, and it’s consistent. One server after another shows the same TN spikes, rubberbanding, delayed hit registration, and general slideshow gameplay. The only place the game feels remotely smooth is on community servers, which obviously shouldn’t be the only reliable option.
This isn’t the beta anymore, and it’s frustrating that a game backed by EA’s resources is struggling with basic server stability. For comparison, BattleBit, developed by a tiny team, handles 128 vs 128 matches with almost no latency issues. Even Call of Duty doesn’t have this level of server-side lag. Something is clearly wrong on BF6’s side.
I love the game — the gunplay, the maps, the movement — but at this point I physically cannot play it. It feels like I’m watching a PowerPoint presentation every time the TN spikes. I really want to keep playing, but the servers right now make it impossible.
Please look into this. I’m happy to provide screenshots, clips, or any other info that may help. Just hoping we can get some clarity or acknowledgement that the issue is being investigated.
Thanks.
