Timed out for inactivity on series x

For the last two days now I’ve been unable to join any type of multiplayer game modes. I’ll be able to join my friends lobbies and even go through a matchmaking timer with them, but once we find a match my character will stand up and the screen will turn black. Then after about a minute of loading I get kicked back to the lobby saying I’ve been timed out for inactivity when I didn’t even get a chance to be inactive. Everything I’ve been reading has said to reset everything or uninstall reinstall but none of that had any effect and I just want to play the game I paid for.
